Terms of business
The terms on which we act for your company.
Our role
We act as a commercial finance broker for your company. We introduce your company to lenders on our panel for business-purpose finance. We do not lend, give financial, tax or legal advice, or hold client money.
Who we act for
Irish limited companies seeking finance for business purposes. We do not act for consumers.
Who can accept these terms
The person who accepts these terms confirms that they are a director of the company, or are otherwise authorised to act for it. They also confirm that the directors, shareholders and guarantors named in the application know their details will be shared with lenders for this purpose.
How we apply for your company
After you apply, your dashboard shows lenders on our panel that appear to match your company. You choose where to start and upload your documents. When your documents are complete, we send your application to that lender and, under the authority you give us when you apply, to other lenders on our panel whose criteria your company appears to meet. We do not ask you again before each lender. Your dashboard shows which lenders have your application. You can tell us at any time to stop, or not to approach a particular lender.
Fees and commission
We do not charge your company a fee at any stage. Lenders pay us commission when finance completes. The amount can differ between lenders and products; ask us and we will tell you.
Your responsibilities
- Give complete and accurate information
- Tell us about changes to your company's position
- Make sure the directors, shareholders and guarantors named in your application know their details will be shared with lenders
- Read lender terms carefully and take independent legal advice on guarantees
Complaints and law
See our complaints procedure. These terms are governed by Irish law.
Terms of business: FAQs
What do you do for my company?
We act as a commercial finance broker. We introduce your company to lenders on our panel for business-purpose finance, gather the information and documents they need, and explain the offers they make. We do not lend, hold client money or make lending decisions. All finance is subject to the lender’s assessment and approval.
Do you give financial, tax or legal advice?
No. We are not financial advisers. We explain how options and offers work, but we do not give financial, tax or legal advice or recommend what your company should do. Speak to your accountant about tax and accounting, and take independent legal advice before signing a personal guarantee.
What will I pay you?
Nothing. We do not charge your company a fee and never ask for payment upfront. Lenders pay us commission when finance completes. The amount can differ between lenders and products, and you can ask us how much at any time.
Can I see which lenders have my application?
Yes. Your dashboard at app.welcomefinance.ie shows each lender that has your application and where it stands. You can also ask us at any time.
Will you ask me before sending my application to each lender?
No. When you apply, you authorise us to send your application to the lender you choose to start with and to other lenders on our panel whose criteria your company appears to meet. You can tell us at any time to stop, or not to approach a particular lender. You are never bound to accept an offer: you decide whether to sign with a lender.
Can I end our arrangement?
Yes, at any time, by email or phone. We then stop sending your application to lenders, and nothing is due to us. Ending our arrangement does not cancel any agreement your company has already signed with a lender. If a lender is already assessing your application, we can ask it to withdraw it.
What does my company need to do?
Give us complete and accurate information, tell us about any change in your company’s position, and read each lender’s terms carefully before signing. Giving a lender false or misleading information can lead to the finance being refused or withdrawn. Take independent legal advice on any personal guarantee.
Who decides whether my company gets finance?
The lender. Each lender runs its own assessment, which can include a Central Credit Register search, identity and fraud checks and a review of your accounts and bank statements, and sets its own rate, fees and conditions. Each lender that receives your application may run its own credit search, so more than one search can appear on the company’s or a director’s Central Credit Register report. We cannot guarantee approval, a particular rate or a timescale.
